DESCRIPTION:The Data Science for Child Health Now in Ghana (DS-CHANGE) Tra
 ining Program is dedicated to building data science capacity at Kwame Nkru
 mah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Our mission is to develo
 p a cadre of highly qualified data scientists focused on addressing critic
 al child health challenges in Ghana.Through mentored training and experien
 tial learning\, the program integrates expertise from multiple disciplines
 \, including applied mathematics\, computer science\, clinical informatics
 \, biostatistics\, and epidemiology. Faculty and graduate trainees collabo
 rate to tackle computationally complex child health problems\, with a focu
 s on malaria\, injury\, and congenital anomalies (such as orofacial clefts
 )—three of the top ten causes of child mortality and disability in Ghana
 .   DS-CHANGE is built on strong collaborations with KNUST\, the Univer
 sity of Washington (UW)\, Seattle Children's Hospital and Research Institu
 te\, and the non-profit Smile Train. These partnerships ensure access to g
 lobal expertise and cutting-edge research opportunities.   This worksho
 p serves as a platform to share insights from the past year\, showcasing t
 he establishment of a dynamic industry-academia-collaboration that fosters
  innovation and knowledge exchange in biomedical data science.Join us as w
