Description

In this talk we will describe the drift-diffusion model for
the electricity generation of a solar cell. We arrive at a set of non-linear partial differential
equations for the flow of electrons. For a fixed solar irradiation
the steady state for the flux of electron will the determine
the electricity production.

We solve the pde's numerically using a simple finite difference discretization.
The boundary conditions need some special care as these are not fixed Dirichlet
conditions, but are themselves functions of the unknown.
The system of non-linear equations is then solved by iteration. We show that
fixpoint iteration as well as Newton Raphson iteration converge to the
physical interesting solution.
